We received a friendly welcome when visiting this pub in the centre of Lancaster just before lunchtime during the week between Christmas and New Year. Sadly, no mulled wine left and, visiting from the West Midlands, I was both amused and disappointed that they offer a range of ales from as far afield as Cornwall (a nice Hazy IPA) but nothing local - you need to visit the Sun Hotel for that! It was quiet at that time but gave us opportunity to take a look around and enjoy a chat. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you enjoy a choice of ale and a pub of character.
Excellent pub, we had 2 drinks in here and the staff were very friendly. It's a big music pub and has bands etc on most evenings. Next time we are in Lancaster we will drop in. Highly recommend 😊
Its just a shame people forget about this pub some times. Last time I visited it was really quiet but this weekend you couldn't move. Always have a good band on.
Wow, what a great place with such a brilliant atmospere. Visited during the Lancaster music festival and it was by miles the best atmosphere of all the venues we visited. It was the 1st time I'd seen / ordered 2 pint sized glasses of beer, but OMG they were needed. The place was absolutely rammed, which meant getting to the bar was a nightmare, hence 2 pint glasses being a great thing!😄 There is a little stage at the front where the bands played, the interaction with the crowd was brilliant by the bands and it was simply a great cracking.
Great place. Their open mics are well run, welcoming and friendly even if you’re from the other side of the planet. Drinks are reasonably priced and there’s a good selection. I also really like the set up of the place. The booth seating is comfy and cozy. It’s a great place to get to know the fun and friendly folk of Lancaster.
