I had not been in this pub for years, but the Kinleith Mill shut up early, and we headed here. Great decision. Friendly service, great prices, nice and clean. Will definitely go back.
Warning! don't use the car park and grumpy staff. On my first visit to this pub, on entering it, it seemed like a nice local pub. I bought myself a drink and sat down with the friends I went to meet. About 10 minutes later, the bar person came over and briskly said that I couldn't park at the front of the pub. There was no sign saying I could not park. I informed the barmaid that the car park looked very dark, and as a single older woman, I was unsure about parking there. I went out and moved my car. I saw a fire exit into the pub from the car park but thought I should not use it as the rude barmaid may tell me off. I returned to the front door; the car park was very dark and had no lighting; there was a ridge between the tarmac and the gravel. I had a nasty fall as I could not see this hazard. I informed the barmaid that I had a bad fall because the car park was very dark and the ground uneven, and they needed more lights. I was not rude but simply gave fair feedback on the situation. The said barmaid did not even as if I was ok! Totally did not care. Her response was I had to to speak to the manager. As I do not live locally, I was not returning or phone another day to talk to a manager. Hence, I am writing this review. At the end of the evening, the grump barmaid asked us frostily to drink up at 10 pm. She was closing the pub. The Woodhall Arms is an unpleasant place for a drink with grumpy and uncaring staff. What happens to that war Scottish welcome you expect from pub staff? certainly you will not receive that at the Woodhall Arms Show less Date of visit: December 2023
time and ververy impressed. Lovely and spotless cosy pub where you feel very welcome by staff and locals. Will definitely return as very few pubs left that are just pubs and where non locals and women over a certain age can sit and feel relaxed. A lovely pub and wee beer garden beer garden which can't wait to sit in once summer time.I would visit myself and feel comfortable to as a female.
Lovely small place run by a family. Beatifully designed and with easy access to safe parking space. We were served in no time and treated with friendliness and kindness, and got free coffee too! I would highly reccommend!
Really good local pub. Well fitted out with comfortable seats and a sunny beer garden at rear. Nice to see it open again. Pleasant ambience, very friendly owners, staff and local customers. Plenty choice of drinks and some snacks. Worth a visit.
