Operated since early November 2018 by individuals who bought the lease previously held for many years by JD Wetherspoon, this large, town centre pub, half panelled with now pale blue walls and plaster patterned ceiling, has an attractive walled patio to the rear. Named the Bucks Head until 1991, retaining its original bar and traditional feel, it is a popular community pub with two real ales not to be found regularly elsewhere in south west London. Occasional guest beers may come e.g. from Bedlam or Lister's breweries.
Cask beer at £3.50/pint but £2.30/half as at June 2023.

Beautiful old pub but they need to change the lightbulbs. They have energy saving bulbs in every fixture at full blast; I feel like I’m getting a fake tan. Swap half the bulbs for old school warm lighting and turn the other half off to save the energy! It will inject some atmosphere back into the place.
Very pedestrian offerings on tap, feels like a glorified estate pub (which is a shame, given the lovely building). Nice staff though, probably a decent place if you want to watch the footie with like-minded folk.
Been visiting here for years. So much better since it refurbished and no longer a weatherspoons. Great atmosphere especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
Had a few drinks here. Not the first time so I know what the pubs like. There was a party going on with a DJ so made it more lively than it normally is. Staff polite. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Drink prices are good. Cheaper than most pubs.
Used to be a Wetherspoons, now a free house with an impressive range of real ales. TV showing sport. Very friendly. Good prices. Bring your own food.
