The White Lion is a small-but-perfectly-formed pub in the Hemel Hempstead village of Apsley. It’s a cosy, welcoming spot – luring locals through the door with the promise of great draught beers.
Excellent locals pub with a lively atmosphere on a Friday. Good juke box and darts. Selection of beers, well kept and served. They'll know you are not a regular, though turn up for a night's drinking, and you'll be welcomed. A proper pub!
This pub was absolutely packed a right old jolly up for Xmas day. Loved every minute of it. This pub is definitely worth a visit
A very good pub, best pub in Hemel Hempstead and And Apsley Hertfordshire. I will enjoy myself there. Everybody is welcome very nice bar staff and I will wish him a happy Christmas and happy New Year
Recommend by one of my clients, my wife and I took a detour from the M25 to visit. We received a warm welcome and a hello from two gentleman chatting at the bar. Our drinks were expertly drawn/poured and being a lovely day we went and sat at one of the benches under a parasol to enjoy both drinks and discuss our day………. THEN!!!!!!….. A few minutes later the ‘local barrack room lawyer’ arrived and much to our amusement he gave us his ‘uninvited’ opinion on taxes, the world in general , this unfortunately became more and more tiresome, though telling a retired tax inspector that you are avoiding paying your taxes amused me very much!!!.😂😂😂 Will I return ? Yes Would I recommend the White Lion? Yes We would have ordered further drinks but feared the ‘Lawyer’ would follow us inside.
