Our fine real ales are by traditional Hertford brewers McMullens and the Rivertown Brewery and we always have a range of session and premium lagers and ciders on tap. Small homely pub with very tasty food. Recommend the Sunday roast also the fish & chips. Served piping hot with a good selection of seasonal veg.
We never had food in here but am sure it would be nice as we enjoyed our couple of drinks in a comfortable corner just lapping up the atmosphere
Very good food, friendly staff, cosy pub. Recommended.
Never been here before but the menu looked good. As soon as we entered, we were given a lovely warm greeting and shown to our table. The drinks order was taken straight away and the drinks arrived within a couple of minutes (as did all future drinks orders). We shared a couple of starters, both of which were delicious. A little disappointed to discover the pie had sold out but that's sometimes to be expected with home-cooked dishes. The mains were tasty and filling and we could only manage one dessert between us. Overall, extremely impressed with the service - quite rare to come across staff this friendly.
We had a delicious Sunday roast here, including an amazing vegetarian roast. The weather was lovely so we were able to eat outside, and the staff were friendly as always. The desserts are always varied and tasty too!
