Imagine a pub that is over 300 years old, steeped in history and integral to the community and you have the Welcome to Town.
Even though it is small in size it is big in heart and, in it’s time, the Welcome has provided many services to Llanrhidian and Gower: A cranny that was used as the Gaol; the Long Room, a food hall that doubled up as a courtroom for local miscreants; a meeting place for the landowners of Gower and a masonic temple;
And now in the 21st century, having undergone a complete refurbishment, the Welcome opens its doors as Gower’s premier dining pub. Proud to be a proper pub the atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious; the food is simple and delicious; the wines & beers are chosen for taste and maintained to perfection. All in all we have a simple dedication to quality which we hope is going to blow your socks off!.

Staff are great! Amazing food. Medium rare steak was cooked absolutely perfectly with great peppercorn sauce!! Highly recommend
A fab stop after a muddy walk. Dog freindly as well. The food was lovely. Tastiest pub food we have had in a long time. Piping hot and freshly cooked. Had cockles to start, followed by the turkey burger with all the Christmas trimmings . My wife had the lamb shank with mash. Both full of flavour . It was lovely and warm in there as well.
Really great pub, good beer selection & nice wines. Food has never disappointed and often there specials sell out. Good local products used. Only downside is parking at popular times like Sunday lunch or Saturday night can be tricky and you might need to park up the Hill. But it's worth it. Staff are always helpful.
Really enjoyed our lunch here. We braved the elements and sat outside despite it being a bit chilly and overcast. However the food and drinks made up for the weather with excellent, ribs, steak and cod and chips. The scampi was a bit ‘manufactured’ with more batter than fish but still passable. Good Guinness and beer and a very pleasant lunch altogether. The service was pleasant and prompt.
