The Wagon Westgate is a busy family run pub. It’s located on the famous Westgate run, on the main bus route to the city centre and within walking distance to Wakefield Westgate train station.
We’re a long running family business, offering plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. It has a lovely wood burning stove. The pub offers several premium lagers, cask ales, Lilley’s ciders, gins, cocktails and a great selection of wines & spirits to cater for everyone’s needs.
Bottomless Brunch is also available 7 days a week. Ranges from our classic brunch with Pizzas and sides to our Chicken Shack Brunch & Themed Brunch’s whether you prefer the Italian, Indian or Mexican Brunch, whatever takes your fancy.

This morning I got a puncture in my mobility scooter and called in at the WAGON IN WAKEFIELD, and just let me say this THE LOVELY YOUNG LADY BEHIND THE BAR MADE ME FEEL A WHOLE LOT BETTER SHE JUST COULDN'T DO ENOUGH TO HELP ME , SHE WAS AN ANGEL SHE REALLY WAS , LET ME USE HER MOBIĹE SHE MADE ME A CUPPA TEA ,AND SHE JUST WOULDNT LET ME PAY FOR THE USE OF HER PHONE OR PAY FOR THE TEA ,AS I WAITED FOR THE BREAKDOWN MAN I LISTENED TO SOME GOLDEN OLDIES AND SANG ALONG TO THEM, , AND THE PUB ITSELF WAS SO CLEAN ,CARNT THANK THE BEAUTIFUL LOVELY LADY THAT MADE ME SO WELCOME X, XXXX👍👍
I went on 31/9/2023 for bingo Night with my grandma and grandad. The atmosphere was brilliant plenty of laughs, the service was great and they had put some food on as well which was lovely.
Bustling friendly pub with good atmosphere. Brunch good value, music played is a good range, pool cheap and friendly welcoming staff, what more could anyone ask for 😊
