The pub can be traced back to 1842 and from 1846-1860 it was known as the Albert Tavern (named after Prince Albert) but when Prince Albert died in 1861 the pub reverted to the Vine. It was known as The Vine Tavern in Dove Street until 2008 when Aey Allen took over.

The Vine Thai Norwich has a reputation of not only serving fine beers, but also delicious traditionally cooked Thai Cuisine. All our foods are cooked fresh to order and many dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan.
As well as real English Ales, the pub also boasts a range of world and fruit beers and bottled ciders and also has a selection of wines and whiskeys. Every year in May, we take part in the Norwich City of Ale Festival and we also hold our own Winter and Summer Ale Festivals.
As well as Beer Festivals, we run a Quiz Night once a month and have ongoing special offers.
The restaurant is upstairs, although customers often eat downstairs in the bar area. Extra tables are set ouside in the pedestrianised street should you wish to have a drink outside or eat al fresco.

First time visiting 'The Vine' and can say we'll be going back again. Service was exceptional, very nice lady serving and going through the menu in detail ~ we liked that. Cozy venue, quirky almost, two floors (good amount of seating seen), we seated upstairs, was able to see the chef cooking from were we was 🙂 The food was soooo good 👍, so tasty....and beautifully presented. All freshly prepared and cooked in house. Thanks Vine for a lovely lunch 👍
Loved this place. Tiny pub with tiny restaurant above. Great selection of Belgian beers and out of this world Thai food.
Great meal freshly cooked and real tasty. The bar has a real good selection of beers, ales, and other drinks. 1st time been here already planning on going back. Comes highly recommended.
Although the food was tasty we felt it was over priced. 2 very small starters consisting of just 3 small spring rolls and 3 small chicken satays cost £17 for example. We discovered our table was sticky and even after mentioning this to the staff it was not cleaned. Also they added a 10% service charge to everything so be careful if ordering drinks because even the beers I went to the bar to get myself and put on the tab incurred the additional service charge, remember this is a pub!
Visiting this little pub was such a treat - it's small but with a big heart. It's super dog friendly so we were able to have a drink and eat some delicious Thai food and our pup could accompany us. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and the food was fabulous.
