Just had our best meal out for years. We both ordered the Indian starter and fish and chips for main. The food was amazing , the portions sizes good for the price, and despite it being quite busy we were shown to a table very quickly, and our order taken straight away and the staff were all very helpful and efficient. Will definitely be returning.
Fantastic delicious pub food, great service and decent beers.
The best sirloin beef roast dinner we have ever had. Great Vocation brewery beer. Table & chairs were abit sticky though. On reflection I think it was the cleaning cloth that was making it sticky
This was our second time eating here in the last few months. The food has been lovely both times. It’s a lovely old country pub with gorgeous views. A nice variety on the menu too, the Mac and Cheese bites were so nice! The staff were polite and helpful. It’s a great atmosphere in there, both times we have been it has been quite busy but this hasn’t affected the service. It’s definitely my ideal pub on a Sunday afternoon. We will be returning!
I was brought here as a child, first time back as an adult. The sun was shining and there was plenty of parking and outside tables, so that's what I took. Fantastic position in the middle of nowhere, the roads are taxing but a delight, you need to keep your eye in front and be courteous. Back to the food, cannot fault it in any way, the portions are large and you are not left wanting. They are dog friendly and even made a special order of two boiled eggs for my (borrowed) dog as he has a restricted diet. The service was very quick and always with a smile. I would recommend booking ahead as it is very popular. You are just 5mins walk to the start of a path to Studley Pike affording fantastic views over the Todmorden valleys. A special mention to the Cumberland sausage especially made for them, with mustard mash, veg and gravy, superb!
