Gino and Rachael warmly welcome you to The Temple Bar Inn, Ewyas Harold.
Independently owned and first licensed in the 1850s, the beautiful Virginia Creeper clad, stone building changes appearance throughout the year, from light to dark green leaves during spring and summer, to an autumnal fiery red and is a real focal point for the village.
Assured of a warm welcome from landlord and locals, a roaring wood burner in the winter, and a beautiful sun drenched rear courtyard in the summer, The Temple Bar Inn with its 3 ensuite rooms is perfect for a relaxing staycation exploring the beautiful Golden Valley.
As well as numerous local walks and the Ewyas Harold Common stretching to over 120 acres, we are also just 12 miles from both Hereford and Abergavenny and the start of the Black Mountains, and just over an hour away from Pen-Y-Fan and the Brecon Beacons.
We and the rest of the Temple Team look forward to seeing you soon.

Really nice pub food and atmosphere. They even picked us up and took us home free of charge! Couldn’t ask for anything more. Would 100% recommend.
Visited The Temple Bar on Friday 24/11/23 to meet old friends for a meal. We were warmly welcomed by the staff in the bar where there was a lovely atmosphere and a log fire. We ate in the restaurant from the a la carte menu. Choice was very good and well priced. The food was excellent as was the service from the staff who looked after us all evening. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I would highly recommend. Keep up the good work.
Family Sunday lunch. Lovely food, good service, nice staff. The crumble was a bit sour and was too big. A smaller portion would've been better, especially after a big main. I can't believe I'm complaining about the size of the pudding, as I love desserts, lol!
Friendly village pub with a superb restaurant. Booked Sunday lunch for the family. There was a warm and welcoming atmosphere and a pleasant busy buzz about the place. Lunch was a most generous meal with a wonderful range of vegetables as well as the beautifully cooked pork and beef. We managed to clear our plates, but only just! In my opinion the red cabbage and 'Nonnas' peas were the stars of the veg show. All served with courtesy and and attention to detail. Highly recommend a visit!
Stayed at the Temple Bar for two nights. Amazing facilities in the room, modern ensuite bathroom, and really comfortable double bed. The breakfast was amazing, fresh coffee and orange juice. Breakfast was fresh local products and tasted amazing. The owner spent time talking about local activities and the history of the area which is really helpful. As a sole traveler,I thought this was one of them most welcoming places I’ve stayed in a long time. I will definitely be coming back
