The pub, now free of the shackles of Enterprise Inns, is now free of tie, Having been refurbished it retains a traditional village pub feel. The new owners are making a big effort to get this welcoming pub back on people's radar. Three ales are available with a guest ale joining the regular house ales. Traditional British food is served every day including Sunday roasts. Live music may also occasionally be enjoyed at weekends. The pub is situated just off the main road through the village in an attractive setting next to a stream, The car park is to the rear as is the smoking area. The Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal passes just a few yards away as does the old railway track which is popular with walkers.
Proper home-cooked grub with the kind of service that makes you feel like you’re part of the family. We had a lovely Sunday roast and highly recommend it if you’re searching for an authentic roast experience.
Lovely cosy pub, quality of the food was excellent with very reasonable prices. The waiter made us feel welcome and have Aspall on tap is always a plus 🍻. Well worth a visit if you're in the area
Typical village pub. Cosy and friendly with a great atmosphere. The type of pub you can relax in. Went there for Sunday lunch - great food, great service.
Excellent food, very reasonable prices and the young lad that served us was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will most certainly be back.
There's no pretentiousness here, no haut cuisine or bistro menus, that's not what they do. Instead, what they do do is traditional pub food very well indeed. I enjoyed the Steak and Ale pie very much indeed, potentially the best I've ever had. Very polite staff, very good prices.
