We are a pub in the historic heart of Bury offering fresh, seasonal, regional food, an award winning wine list & our own Brewshed ale.
Our aim is simple – to serve good food and drink at sensible prices in a relaxed, friendly and clean environment.
We know that not everyone wants the same thing from a pub. You might want a pint of local real ale at the bar… A bottle of wine and a grazing board on the sofas… A meal in the restaurant… A really good coffee and a read of the paper… Take your pick.
If real ale is your thing, look no further. We offer our own Brewshed beers brewed at our craft brewery just down the road.
We’re passionate about wine and have created an award winning list which offers a selection of old favourites combined with some more unusual and quirky wines. The common theme is that we believe they are all well made wines offering good value for money. Every single one of our wines are available by the glass (except some champagnes).
On the food side, the emphasis is on good quality, seasonal produce and, wherever possible, we source it locally. We love Sunday lunch and offer a great roast – bring the family or meet up with friends and catch up on your week.
We’re open from noon until late. So if you’re in need of a locally roasted coffee in the afternoon, you know where to come.
Free wi-fi is available throughout the pub.
Under 18’s are welcome before 6pm in the bar and 8pm in the restaurant. Our kids menu is important to us. It is aimed at children under 8 and each dish is freshly prepared. You can also order a kids roast pork or beef on Sundays. Where possible, we are very happy to prepare smaller portions from our main menu. Baby changing facilities, highchairs, activity sheets and crayons are available.

We went to the One Bull today for Sunday lunch. What a fantastic experience. The drinks were fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious coupled with friendly attentive service an all round great time thank you
Had a late lunch at The One Bull with family Sunday afternoon. Their menu is relatively small, but that's fine, as the options on offer are prepared well, (vegetables not under or over cooked) and flavoursome. This compares with many establishments offering pages and pages of food mediocre at best. To complement the food, the service is prompt, friendly and efficient. The way it should be. Lastly, they have a selection of ales brewed by themselves. What's not to like? Recommended 🙂
Nice atmosphere. Attentive, friendly and helpful servers. Good standard food offering. Kids menu did not have enough plain option/choice. Missing a trick with not making puddings visible as we could’ve been tempted if we’d seen them on a menu.
Everything about this pub was spot on at my first visit. I booked the table at the last moment online. Super quick and easy. When we arrived (a table of four) we were quickly seated and our drinks were ordered. After that we never felt rushed through our appetisers, the English asparagus and salt & pepper squid, or through our dinner. We all ordered the roast sirloin of beef. The roast dinner was one of the best I have had, EVER! We will definitely be returning as I have already booked our table.
Wow what can I say...Best meal out I have had in a long time. I was there for my hen party...table decorated beautifully...staff were friendly and helpful and the food was really very very good. Thank you One Bull
