The Stansfield Arms dates back to 1543 and is the flagship of our collection. This historic, beamed pub and restaurant is set in idyllic Apperley Bridge area, close to the River Aire and surrounded by countryside.
It is popular spot for walkers, cyclists and dog owners, as well as a destination for diners who appreciate the high quality of the food on offer. The Stansfield is perfect for any occasion, whether a romantic meal for two on the sun-dappled patio or a large family celebration.
Our large, south-facing terrace is ideal for a summer pint and in the winter months, enjoy a pint and a pie in front of a roaring fire. Like all the pubs in our collection, we pride ourselves on the quality of our food, which is all freshly prepared with great love and care.
I really enjoyed Sunday dinner at the Stanfield Arms. It's been a few years since I've last been in and it really didn't disappoint. The key thing for me was it was dog friendly (loads of dogs in the bar area!) and they had quite a few vegan options (including Sunday dinner!). A decent beer selection (although nothing special) and the service was top class. Good value for money as well so definitely worth the visit.
We had a fantastic family dinner, thank you for taking care of our needs and for Brooke’s great attention to detail making it a special occasion for our large family.
We cannot praise The Stansfield enough. Our Golden Wedding celebration yesterday was faultless. Matthew and Izzie looked after our every need in the most efficient and professional manner. There were 34 of us and everyone thought it was wonderful. The food was fantastic, exactly as ordered, on time, hot and delicious. The tables were set out exactly as we wanted and we were all made to feel most welcome. We have been eating here for over 50 years now and highly recommend The Stansfield. Thank you for making our celebration so special x
Brilliant selection of Gluten free food. Staff were excellent also. Been on multiple occasions, first few pics gluten free start and main, then third pic of gluten free breakfast more recently.
Wow this place surprised me! It has changed a lot since I visited about ten years ago and I am looking forward to returning again. The service was exceptional the waiting and kitchen staff were so friendly and helpful. The menu has lots of gluten free options but we asked if two starters could be adapted which the chefs were happy to do. My friend and i shared the beetroot and prawn starter. They were both absolutely delicious! So so tasty ! We both had the cheese beef burger , asked for one with no bacon and one gluten free. We also upscaled them to have sweet potato wedges and parmesan fries! The burger was very tasty and juicy, the toppings worked so well in the burgers. The portion of sweet potato wedges was huge and cooked well. The parmesan fries were just yummy! Obviously no pudding after that lot! The restaurant can accommodate wheel chair users, and mobility aids. They were all set up for young children too. The toilets were clean and maintained. There is a great outdoor area at the front of the building. With a recent extension to the car park there are plenty of spaces. We cannot wait to return.
