Visited on the 22nd December and ordered from the festive menu. It was very busy when we arrived but the food and service was still superb. The best meal we've had this year without doubt.
Visited on an early Sunday evening at the end of November and booking online. Found Compare the Meercat did 2 for 1... Food was decent and service ok..Both got Sunday lunches, one had turkey other(mine) had turkey, beef and gammon.. With a massive Yorkshire Pudding...Just needed more gravy, that we asked for and got very promptly..Will definitely go again..
Absolute gem of a place, proper country pub feel, staff very friendly, food is amazing, we will be back
Great food, with an excellent atmosphere. Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. We will be visiting again.
Sadly not a fantastic food experience. Goosnargh Duck (“served pink” according to the menu) was sadly rather grey, dry and over cooked. Poor duck gave my jaw a workout. The creamed cabbage side was over salted. The starters were also quite expensive and not amazing. We ordered the “special starter” of the day, thai prawns for 7.95, and were given 4 minuscule and heavily battered prawns with a (to be fair) yummy dressed salad. I tried my friend’s fish pie and that was good, with chunky portions of fish and a cheesy mash top! The sticky toffee pudding was unfortunately a little burnt on top and dry. Perhaps an off day in the kitchen?
