Celebrating an important family birthday with guests from London, Wellington and Braunton it was important that all needs were perfect. Thank you Stags Head for a perfect day.
What a delightful place! Warm welcome by friendly staff and then, the most delicious meal followed by a great pudding. Will definitely be going back there for sure!
Nice thatched country pub with outdoor seating next to a large pond. Set on a few levels with the bar and restaurant joined by steps. The welcome was friendly enough, the prices weren't, £5.10 for a below average local bitter. I don't think we'll be returning 😕
We came for a meal and didn't stay. There were six of us for Sunday lunch, they offer a traditional roast, with either beef, lamb or chicken, they also offer a nut roast which my wife said was delicious. I had a mixed meat roast. All the ingredients were really good quality and the food was cooked to perfection. Although, it was busy, the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely well worth a visit.
We only visited to eat, not stay. Food was excellent, the menu was interesting and good value. The only disappointment was being seated in the room furthest from the bar and nearest the kitchen. It meant the ambience was lacking. In addition, it was obvious that my sister has mobility issues as she had crutches,so taking us to a table furthest from the door was not helpful. There were plenty of empty tables elsewhere. Despite the above comment we would still visit the Stag Head Inn again.
