Booked table for 3 as love this pub but don't go very often. Nice seating space in the corner. Sadly then got inundated and surrounded by a big family and friends group whilst we were eating who were grabbing chairs from everywhere, coughing everywhere, kids running a mock. To say they were not aware of spacial awareness is an understatement as we were knocked and nudged whilst eating. Luckily the landlord spotted how rude these people were and quickly offered us somewhere else to sit. Excellent customer service and so appreciated. Food amazing.
Haven't eaten here for a number of years as it was not really a pleasant experience. We have had a great surprise now the food is delicious, hot & well presented. An excellent selection of draught beers, wines & spirits. We found the menu had good variety & prices to suit most budgets. We will return.
The SJT kindly hosted our Christmas company bash last night and i can only say good things about the team and food. Ben made the whole process really straightforward and personal for what was a fairly large group (25) Excellent communication and service on the night and the food was fantastic. Not an easy feat with that many people. Everyone in our group had a fantastic time so thanks again 🙏🏻
Brilliant little pub. Cosy and comfortable atmosphere. We went for Christmas dinner in a group of 8. The food was brilliant and the service was very warm and attentive
Best dinner menu for a long time! We ordered the special menu (only available 2 days a week) and this was the best restaurant dish we had for quite some time. Excellent product quality and creative (but not overdone) cooking. Atmosphere is relaxed and you are not rushed to leave the table after 2 hours (as indicated on the reservation form). We can highly recommend the pub. We came again for to order from the standard menu which was nice, too. But the special dinner menu is better.

Welcome to Winchester. An ancient city steeped in history. And at its heart, within earshot of the peels of the city's landmark cathedral is our stunning Winchester hotel, the original Hotel du Vin - in all its Queen Anne-style architectural glory.
