I decided on the Squirrel for Sunday lunch as I had been experiencing poor service at my previous location. I was immediately greeted and shown to my table. Service was very good and prompt and I very much enjoyed the Christmas roast turkey followed by Christmas pudding. I, therefore, had no hesitation in booking again and I was similarly satisfied. Service and food were fine in my book! If I had a suggestion, I would recommend that Chef puts on a Chef's special, a different one each week. It is always good to see a bit of initiative and this would enable the food not to become routine. The danger with set menus is they can become stale and it is all to easy to use the same format week after week. Chef might enjoy the experience as well - pitting his wits against Jamie Oliver! All in all a very enjoyable experience - a good friendly family atmosphere. I look forward to my next visit. Richard Francis.
I feel staff is unfriendly and not welcome with customers. To be honest the food I had is not flavour, chicken is very tough like chewing gum. It probably won't go there again. the portion size was small for what you are paying. First time and last time, I highly not recommended 😭
Fantastic. We are here for now year 2024. We came for a meal and stayed for the disco. Great food great staff that all obviously love their place and its customers. The food here and the atmosphere is worth travelling out for. I am so impressed everytime I come in. Thanks for a great night guys.
Specious, dog friendly place on the outskirts of Ludlow, very easy to get to. Large parking outside. On busy Saturday evening, we waited for about 30 seconds before we were taken to our table. We came with a dog, so we asked for a table out of the way, so the dog wouldn't be an issue and such table we got. Place was warm, clean and looked very welcoming. Fairly big selection of food and drinks at very reasonable price. We ordered drinks and got them after 3 minutes. The waiter was polite and very helpful. Considering how busy it was ,the wait for food was not that bad. We all loved our meals. Fish and chips 10 times better than from seaside place and gammon steaks absolutely delicious! In the end we paid 70 quid for 3 people and a dog. Food and drinks (and gratitude). Very enjoyable visit and we will definitely consider going, if we're in the Shropshire Hills ever again.
Food didn't really have much flavour it was like it came out off a microwave for the price we paid. It probably won't go there again. the portion size was small for what you are paying. I feel I could have cooked at home if I was going to get food served like this. I feel staff could do with smiling and been more friendly with customers.
