About Sportsman’s Rest
Established in 1857 the Sportsman’s Rest is a little village pub in the heart of Porchfield. With beautiful walks right on it's doorstep, it's the perfect stopping point to enjoy a bite to eat and a pint. Serving delicious homemade meals and with local ales on tap, this really is a traditional 'old school' country pub!.

Fantastic old English cosy pub with super friendly and personable staff and delicious food with an abundance of drinks choices. I would highly recommend visiting the Sportsman’s Rest and can’t wait to visit again!
Booked a table on Friday for 1 pm actually asked if fish & chips was available this was confirmed. Arrived ordered and was told no fish & chips even though i had confirmed 3 hours before. Looked at very limited menu not as stated on web site ordered curry only to be told no curry. Not much left to chose left in disgust. This establishment will not be open long if it treats locals like this. Proprietor was person that took my call and confirmed F & C available. I will not return and will warn others about this disgusting establishment. Mr M R Hopper
No food on offer on a Monday so no stars - 👍 Great to see this pub open again with Nicky and her daughter, early days for them but a nice range of beers and a passion to do well with their Sunday lunches (sounds great) we’ll be back to eat soon as it’s so local and is a great little pub in a lovely village
What I call a proper pub, small and cosy, they had the fire on in both rooms. Food was beautiful, I had the rack of lamb roast and I think it was the best roast I've had out in years!! Not over priced food and the staff and happy and friendly. Will definitely be going back soon.
