The pub is a freehold and thus offers a diverse and wide range of cask ale, with Marston's Pedigree as the house bitter. A range of changing guest ales keeps the locals interested and local Ilkeston breweries such as Dancing Duck, Fun Fair and Muirhouse B
The main menu offers an interesting choice of traditional pub favourites, snacks and sandwiches as well as 28 day aged Derbyshire beef from the grill. The main attraction of the menu has to be the 2 Meals For £12 offer which is currently available 12pm -3pm and 5pm-8.30pm mid-week and 12pm-3pm towards the weekend. The Sunday lunch is always hugely popular and booking is strongly recommended.
Families are more than welcome at The Rutland Cottage and their Kids Menu offers children the chance to 'build their own meal' and it even comes with a Robinson's Fruit Shoot! Whilst children are welcome they are not allowed in the pub or restaurant after 9pm and we ask that you respect our licensing conditions.
The large beer garden is a real sun trap and, not surprisingly, attracts the masses during the (rare) sunny days we enjoy!.

just been for Christmas Dinner and it was fabulous. perfect cooked meal all the trimmings great service and a banging atmosphere would highly recommend this place 👌 👍
Nice place great food and good service could do with an updated decor wise but we like coming here
Just the kind of pub we were looking for. Delicious Sunday dinner, with real meat juice gravy. An inexpensive treat for the family, with a wide choice of food. Will be back, as there are 3 more meals we fancy.
Quieter than I would expect for a Sunday lunch time, but still a decent atmosphere, and decent beer too. Not overly expensive too. I'm not sure why, but this place doesn't seem as popular as it uses to, and I can't really tell why. Staff was friendly though which improves the visit.
Nice local pub with good food and a nice selection of beers and spirits. Inside atmosphere is nice with friendly, helpful staff. Good size room for having a family party or wakes after a funeral. Car park is a little small. A little slow if in a very large group
