About us

An unmissable pub in every sense, The Royal Oak and its distinctive frontage sits at the top end of Dartford high street - making it the perfect place to relax after a hard day's shopping.

It’s a historic spot, reputed to have links with Henry VIII, who visited the town in the 16th century to visit Anne of Cleves at the nearby priory.

I visited this pub whilst working in the area away from home, I found it a friendly place where the locals would have a chat with you. The lady behind the bar (land lady I think) was really polite and friendly, she had a beautiful smile and an absolutle cracking pair of thrupenny's with a cleavage to die for , I would definitely visit again. Thanks for having me

As expected, food and drink-wise, a shame that a group had arrived during the afternoon and were loud, not the proprietors' fault but did impact on the atmosphere. The waitress was lovely and the restaurant was clean and well managed

Pleasantly surprised it was starting to look very tired. Closed for a refit, bright freshen up. Sunday lunch very nice, having an Eton mess for desert as I type
