A handsome Grade II* Listed, former coaching inn dating from the 15thC, having 25 abandoned hotel rooms (although some of which are now part of the current owner's flat), a ballroom and a medieval cellar

Next to the Red Lion is the Market Hall, opened by Viscount Palmerston in 1860.
