Went for Sunday lunch. Roast lamb was a little dry (I don't like gravy!) but vegetables were al dente so to my liking. My partner had pie of the day - turkey, ham and leek - which she said was tasty. Creme brulee was very good . Crumble was stodgy but fruit good. Will return again.
Boxing day meal. Staff were pretty miserable, food was of a poor standard to say the least! At £29 a head we all expected so much more! Main and desserts in particular were poor. Won't be back
I just wanted to say how impressed my family and I were with your food and service on Sunday. We've lived in the village over 4 years now and embarrassingly have never eaten at the Red Lion. We popped in on Sunday with our dog after a walk for a drink but ended up ordering food. It was honestly amazing! Great portion sizes and fantastic quality. The staff were so welcoming too. Needless to say we'll most definitely be back again. Thank you.
Never been so disappointed eating a burger! The Red Lion is a local pub with an attached restaurant. The interior of the restaurant part is reasonably decorated, but any attempt at ambience is ruined by the noise from the adjacent pub. The service varied from passable to poor. As for the food, my expectations weren't high to begin with, and it still managed to disappoint me. Three half wings as a starter? Please either reconsider the pricing or the portions. The burger patty itself was alright, but there's barely anything else in them, making it a boring experience. The chips are way too chunky and dry. I haven't included every little complaint, and it wasn't the worst place ever, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Went for Sunday lunch today and it was absolutely delicious. Fantastic service from the staff. I had gammon steak which was huge and so tasty and juicy. Home made chips were delicious. My dad had the lamb roast and he said it was lovely. My brother also had the gammon and he said it was the best meal out he had had in ages
