The Ramsholt Arms is a popular riverside pub and dining room, situated on the banks of the river Deben. The pub was reopened in June 2013 by the same family behind the Michelin recommended Ufford Crown just fifteen minutes down the road. Being the only south facing pub on the river, the Ramsholt Arms enjoys beautiful sunsets and is popular in the summer with holidaymakers, families and sailors who make the most of the sun soaked terrace, neighbouring beach and crab fishing jetty. During the summer months visitors can enjoy a variety of fresh locally caught seafood, sharing platters and a real American barbeque at weekends. As the nights draw in, the menu features hearty winter warming dishes, taking advantage of game from the local area.
Please be aware that owing to seasonality our opening times vary throughout the year. For the most up to date information check our opening times here or call us on 01394 411209.

We were house and petsitting in Ramsholt and had Sunday roast at the Arms. They were happy to accommodate the Newfoundlander we brought with us. Great food and service!
We had the prawn salad with pink sauce so a kind of prawn cocktail but a bit more spicy and the pork Sunday roast. All very nice.
Well I could not believe it, not only was the Ramsholt Arms open on a Monday night, but it was also still taking food orders at 7.00 pm on a Monday, a Monday . We were too late to catch the sunset, but did see a slither of a new moon over the Deben estuary. The food was very good, and they had several real ales as well. What a great unplanned unexpected end to the day. Most other pubs in the area were shut on a Monday and Tuesday night so to find this great pub open in the early evening was fantastic news. P.s we did not book either and parking was free.
A recent family trip here. Warmly greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Would recommend booking! Prompt and friendly service. Food was brilliant. Fresh fish dishes as well as fried ‘platter’. Nice atmosphere. Hustle and bustle but not over-bearing. Would recommend and will shall return again when back in the area.
A lovely place to finish after a circular walk with the family. We sat on a bench by the water with our picnic and then popped to the pub for a drink. It was very quiet on a midweek afternoon despite the favourable weather.
