The Queen is back on.
The Queen is back on her visually-imposing, red-brick, corner-site throne! The landmark Queen Victoria pub, a building which records date to at least 1825, has been revived following a major refurbishment and is now reminiscent of the high-ceilinged, compartmented Queen Victoria Inn shown on maps in 1828 and 1857 Offering a broad selection of wines, spirits and cask-conditioned ales, as well as a variety of coffees and teas, in our comfortable surroundings we're sure to provide an enjoyable and secure environment for friends and new-comers alike.

Had a great time here! Loved the quiz night and all the staff were great - we come every week just because it's a good laugh.
Comprehensive pub menu, tasty food and good service. Very nice pint as well.
I haven't eaten their, so no comment. Quite a good pint, served in a traditional pot, 👌. Not to badly priced. If its to succeed it has stay competitive with the gossy hotel over the rd
Wow, my first visit to this pub and I was not disappointed. From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and attentive and treat you like a friend. The prices are good, £5 something for a Pint of fosters and a half of coke. Sunday dinners are incredible-seriously…for £14 you can get a trio of meats with 3 yorkshires and veg (see the photos) the plate was overflowing with food. For £12.50 the beef dinner was as amazing, I couldn’t eat it all. All in all one of the friendliest pubs I’ve been in in a long time and the food is an absolute must to try. Thanks to all the staff working on the afternoon of Sunday 10th September - you are fabulous!!! We will be back 😀😀
So it’s Eat out to Help out, and the Queen Vic Gosforth cares more about ramming tables in than it does about social distancing between tables. They’ve also increased menu prices by £2 per item since lunchtime when I viewed the menu (I mean Rishi is paying a tenner after all so people won’t miss £2)... and they aren’t giving anyone info to fill out track and trace, or asking anyone use hand sanitiser on entry. They could at least have washed the knives properly you would think. Shame on you. Edit... Having said all that, I can't fault the food at all. We both had burgers and they were absolutely beautiful and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Just a shame they're not complying with social distancing etc.
