If you are looking for a lovely pub, with lovely home cooked food, the Portland is your place to go! The Portland is very local to us and we go there whenever we can. We love the staff and the food is to die for. I can't comment on the quality of the beer or wine, because I drink lemonade when there due to driving, but I can say the lemonade is lovely :) Ignore the 1 star reviews, unless they were a mistake, you can't please everyone and nitpicking is just a nonsense.
I went as part of our work Christmas lunch. The three courses were very well presented. The camembert starter, followed by the turkey main course, and the Eton mess dessert were all really tasty. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive for our party of 10. Well worth visiting.
Came with my whole family for a birthday meal, it was perfect! The food was amazing, excellent size portions- I had the prawn noodles and they were fantastic! It was a lovely atmosphere, really friendly and will be back again!
Went for Sunday roast, we had the light bites which were filling, not cheap, but not expensive. The service was a bit ropey but that was due to the waitress being new. Food was quality, would go again. No parking though
