About us

Located in the village of Felinfach, situated in the Brecon Beacons area half way between Brecon and Hay-On-Wye, The Plough & Harrow Inn offers not only a refreshing drink and a welcome meal but comfortable ensuite B&B accommodation with great conversation. The pub was originally the home of the village Blacksmith and became a ‘pub’ in the 1860’s. Cyd & Sue have been host of the Inn since 1992 and have made many improvements bringing it up to the present day standard. The Inn comprises of a licensed bar with dining for up to 16 and a comfortable seating area with a warming log burner.

Evening meals can be taken in the bar or dining room and are reasonably priced and locally sourced. Where ever possible we try to use produce grown in the pub garden.

Accommodation consists of a twin en-suite room, a double en-suite room and a Suite comprising of a private lounge, double bedded room and en-suite bathroom. All rooms have colour TV's and complimentary beverage trays and are centrally heated.

Free parking is available at the front of the property and we offer secure storage for those arriving by bicycle. We have drying facilities for wet clothing, packed lunches for those setting out for a day in the hills and superfast wifi is available to residents.

Within easy reach of The Plough and Harrow there are numerous historical attractions such as, Brecon Cathedral, the Big Pit or Dan yr Ogof caves to mention just a few.

We are ideally situated for exploring the Brecon Beacons and Black mountains, on foot, by bicycle or by pony (arrangements can be made on your behalf). With the historic market town of Brecon situated on the Brecon and Monmouth canal approximately 4 miles away, and many other areas of natural beauty within a 40 minute drive away, it is the perfect base for all country pursuits. Golfing, shooting, fishing, walking, bird watching and pony trekking, sailing on Llangorse lake and pleasure trips on the canal are all within easy reach.. Brecon, itself, has a modern leisure centre and some fantastic coffee shops.

Serves excellent home cooked food. Friendly welcome and quick service. Lovely comfortable settees to relax in whilst having a drink. I tried the Brecon gin with a Fever Tree tonic - absolutely delicious.

We reserved our table at Plough & Harrow Inn because it was close to Brecon. We had a lovely time here. The menu was good, as a veggie i found it hard to choose from the many options available to me. My wife had a lamb steak which she said was excellent. I had spring rolls for starter followed by veggie chilli the service was attentive but not intrusive. This is just what you would expect, a super place serving great food in the Welsh countryside.

A great little B&B set in a quaint little village not far from the town. Sue was a lovely host who couldn't do enough. Even provided us with a take away breakfast as we were leaving early the first day. Breakfast on our last day was amazing with continental plus a full fry up. Very comfy beds. Tea, coffee and bottles of water provided in the room. Great shower. Soap, shower gel and shampoo provided in the bathroom which was a nice little touch, I had to borrow one of the soaps to take home as it smelt amazing. TV in the room too. I would highly recommend

Wonderful B&B run by Sue, with added entertainment supplied by her partner Syd. Great, good sized, comfortable rooms. Fantastic breakfast choices. Plus great dinner menu selection for evenings. Late evenings in the bar are very entertaining, as all the guests come together to meet over a few drinks and get thoroughly entertained by Syd and some of the locals. Also get to meet the highly loveable Paddy the Westweylian Whippet! (Jack Russel for short) who really steals the show. I can highly recommend a stay here as it is situated in a beautiful location and a great hub to explore the Brecon beacons and surrounding area from.
