We had booked a table as we were here for the Christmas Market, just as well as people were being turned away and told the place was fully booked. We were shown to our table quite quickly and menus provided and drinks ordered straight away. Service was a bit slow but due to how busy it was this was acceptable. One of our party who was also eating there said she had waited an hour for her starter to arrive. Our food arrived hot and portions of a good size. As we were not staying at the hotel I cannot review it.
Six of us have had excellent service from the brilliant guys waiting on, coupled with lovely banter, it made our night! The food was top-notch too, lovely choice and so tasty. We didn't stay in the rooms, but if they're anything like the rest of experience, you couldn't go wrong! Highly recommended and somewhere we would ALL visit again. A++++
Very clean central hotel. Really quite despite being in prime location. Andy and Will thank you for a really pleasant friendly stay. Breakfast was lush unhurried. Thank u love the nurses!!!
Turned out without a booking today on a busy Sunday and they had a table which was great considering how busy it was. Our waiter/host was a very funny chap who was polite, friendly and welcoming and is a credit to the establishment. Food was really quickly served and really nice! Would go again!
We went here for an evening meal while staying in stratford after popping in just before lunchtime to take a look at the menu and being told we should really book if we wanted a table. On our return in the evening the pub was almost deserted. We chose a table and looked over the menu. We went to the bar to order our food to be greeted by an unsmiling barman who could not really be bothered to take the order. We purchased two extremely expensive drinks and sat down to wait for our food. 5 minutes later the fire alarm went off, all the staff seemed to run around like headless chickens taking no notice of their diners and just laughing amongst themselves. About 20 minutes later the chef came out of the kitchen with two plates asking if they were ours, unfortunately they were not ours. He returned about five minutes later with our meals saying they had been sitting in the kitchen and nobody had brought them out. Of course they were cold and we asked if he could heat them up. He was very helpful giving us fresh chips and heating the rest of the meal. By the time we left there was no-one left in the pub and none of the staff asked if we had enjoyed our meal. the whole experience was extremely disappointing and the staff showed a total indifference to their customers. A place to avoid in future visits.......................................................................................................
