Located within the Cotswolds triangle of Burford, Chipping Norton and Stow- on- the- Wold, The Hare at Milton- under- Wychwood is the perfect country pub. Behind the Milton stone façade of the ancient pub lies a charming, stylish interior with the warmes
Our Head Chef, Matt Dare, is hugely passionate about cooking and leads an enthusiastic team who create delicious dishes from predominantly local suppliers. We serve the full a la carte menu every lunch time and evening alongside our famous Marine Cuisine board which is stuffed with the freshest fish and seafood available from the shores of Devon and Cornwall and delivered daily.
We also serve a selection of freshly prepared salads and sandwiches Monday- Saturday lunchtimes and a board of enticing bar snacks are always available.
Our cosy bar, with its oak floor, beamed ceiling and log burner is perfect for a relaxing drink & snack or an informal lunch or supper. We sell a great selection of weekly changing cask-conditioned ales, wines and fizz by the glass, draft and bottled lagers and interesting soft drinks.
The full a la carte menu is served in the bar as well as the dining areas. We are happy to book tables in the bar but space is a bit limited so come early to grab a seat!.

Excellent pub. Food was lovely, staff were genuinely friendly and happy to help. We had a young dog with us and asked if we could be out of the way of others. They kindly put us on a quiet table which was perfect for us. The food quality is brilliant, really nice atmosphere, attentive staff. We didn't stay for a pudding unfortunately but I have no doubt they would be as good as the starters and mains. Considering how busy the pub was, and having a slightly unsettled dog, the staff were really accommodating. Definitely recommended and would love to go back. Perfect pub with or without a dog.
We were a party of 4, my wife, daughter in law and son. Good gluten free options. Excellent service, staff were so pleasant and helpful. Beer, speaking for myself was excellent, wine, a Romanian Saviguan Blanc was also excellent. Food was absolutely superb. First time visit but will definitely return. Thank you so much.
Great ambience and feel of a pub! While we had a coffee in pub 😅, it was because we had to drive, we loved the atmosphere and their warm welcoming hospitality. I would recommend folks to visit this place.
A Cotswolds gem. Great seasonal food and lovely atmosphere. We had a plant based dishes and both were super delicious and freshly prepared. The location was lovely too 👌🏽 we will definitely come back 🤎
Excellent food in a lovely Cotswold pub setting. The chicken and leek pie was outstanding, Bream also good. Daughter had the crispy beef salad which I was lucky enough to finish off. Very enjoyable meal.
