Beautiful historical pub in the heart of Southam
Southam minted its own coins in mediaeval times because local people found ordinary coins too high in value for everyday use. Built in the early 16th century the coin mint house is now a pub โ unsurprisingly called โthe Olde Mintโ. The grooves in the stone doorway are said to be the result of soldiers sharpening their swords.
Pub under new management. Lovely beer garden & games room.

Our band played here on a Friday night. It was one of the quietest and earliest gigs we have ever done. Luckily we had a few of our followers to eradicate the echo. That said, there were a few dancing towards the end of the night and the staff were excellent. It is a lovely pub but I don't think Friday music is hip in Southam. We would love to play there again to a full pub!
Went to see a band here. The Sirens live. Had a really great night. Friendly staff. Quirky pub. Good music. Clean toilets. Massive outdoor area too, with a bar and children's area. I'll definitely come back.
The pub is a nice building lots of character, but not good for the area, from what I have been told over the past 4 years. Pubs are struggling, with this in mind, perhaps it should be converted to a museum, exhibiting what it was originally used for when King Charles 1 was around. Schools could have education trips to the area.
Beautiful old building. Two real ales. Enjoyed visit. Friendly staff and locals. Recommended
A beautiful genuinely old pub, with loads of character...lovely decor, a great selection of beers and wines with a super menu too. There's a spacious outdoor area with tables and benches, and the kids have their own play slides too. Lots of free parking at the back of the pub, it's well worth a visit ๐๐
