Had Christmas 🎄 dinner 🍽 here with the ball and chain ⛓️, and both my parents, service excellent, food excellent, atmosphere excellent. I was more than a little concerned that it would be a ping dinner 🍽! I was wrong! The food was all cooked fresh by Chef's, absolutely delicious meal, staff were absolutely faultless and nothing was too much trouble, so impressed we've made enquiries for next Christmas 🎄, and if all goes well we'll be there next year. Can't thank all the staff enough. Thankyou to you all, and a v happy new year. Very reasonable prices as well, also Moretti on draught as well.

Me and my mum had a perfectly fine time here. I enjoyed the room as the beds were comfy and the bathroom was decent with a large shower and plenty of space. While we stayed they had a singer and even a séance of sorts which was interesting and a bit of fun. Food was decent. Unfortunately one guy was locked out of his room after dark and he seemed to find it difficult to get hold of anyone but it didn’t seem like a common issue. For a place to stay this was plenty good and the staff were a friendly lot. Thanks!

Called on off chance after a trip out asked if we had to book said they were busy but fit us in, 4 adult 1 child, there was about 10 people in said there would be a wait on food. Ordered 2pies, 2mushroom stroganoff with homemade bread and a kids chicken dippers. Waited well over an hr, when I asked said it was being plated up, 10mins later, stroganoff had a skin on it, not homemade bread, nann bread, overdone chips, mushy peas so dry and crusty they left them and only 2 chicken dippers on my daughters dinner, she's 11 and was starving. Not good at all, only saving grace was they knocked a round of drinks off for the wait. Wouldn't go back.

We stopped at this pub last year for a meal and was so impressed we went back again. Service still excellent and friendly. Chips still hand cut and delicious. Mushy peas were not ready so had garden peas. The steak and ale pie was very large and full of beef. Unfortunately the meat was a bit tough. Some bits were tender but few and far between. We asked for extra gravy. This wasn't as good as some we've had. It had a slightly sour after taste. The pastry was good.
