Went for sunday lunch a few weeks. No organisation, staff are totally disinterested. Service was very poor. Food was ok but not good enough to want to return. Shame as we are local and would be nice to have a decent pub within walking distance.
Booked a table for four, Tuesday evening, during first week of summer holidays, we arrived about 20 mins early, our guests on time, only had one bitter available, one guest did not like rocket salad, was not offered anything else, meal was over priced, other three ok, we asked for coffee, just got, not available. Sticky toffee pudding nice, cheesecake tasted stale, presume coffee not available as staff went home, paid the barman, have eaten here many times over the years but will not be returning.
Lovely staff, good service, nice pint. The steak and chips was excellent, brilliant chips, lovely locally sourced steak and home made onion rings. Not cheap though, but very, very good.
We visited to have a meal mid week in the evening and pub was busy, but serving staff were friendly, and all food ordered was good. We can recommend the Scampi, Hunters Chicken and the Cod and chips, all tasty! Overall, good traditional pub grub at reasonable prices. 👍
Food was very good and hot, we had the fish and chips. The chips were yummy. Husband had house burger which he said was delicious. Family run pub. Hope they will open in the winter for the locals. Would be fabulous to have curry nights etc. Would make a fabulous local music venue.
