As always good food and quick friendly service, can't fault this place whether it's a drink, Sunday roast or a meal out, great value and dog friendly
On arrival was told about a 45 min wait for food . Waited a total of 1hr 20 mins for starter, a futher 30 mins for main and a even futher 10 mins for the vegetables ect. Food was only luke warm shame but Very poorly run. Wont be re visiting
So, based on last weeks reviews on facebook and my partner, and i agreed that coming for Sunday roast would be a great idea. We booked a table on facebook. Finally, on the day we arrived and the owner had given away our table even though we pre-booked. We waited an hour for the main course to arrive. It was fairly busy, too, and I did notice the solitary wait staff member was flat out trying to juggle, cleaning the tables, and delivering food to tables. When the food was coming out, it looked good, good portion sizes, and I was personally excited to receive my food. When it arrived, I had pitiful half cooked 3 small roast potatoes. The mash was utterly gross. It was lumpy and flavourless, and I found more flavour in plain boiled pasta. The meat was actually decent, which is why this review gets 2 stars. Some constructive criticism: get a better chef and another wait staff for those busy days, and don't give away tables when they have been booked.
Popped in on the fly for an impromptu Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed! Large pub, good atmosphere and friendly staff with a well stocked bar. 4 choices of delicious quality meat and plenty of it, excellent value plus a choice of how many courses you'd want including a kids option. You know it's a good Sunday roast if the veggies come on a separate plate! Super tasty, we'll definitely be back again. Highly recommended.
Fantastic lunch the food was amazing. Very clean and lovely decorated pub. Friendly helpful staff
