One of the best pubs in the village. Always friendly and welcoming and a good bunch of locals/drinkers whenever you go in. Glad to see it reopened after new owners and definitely part of the village community.
Jim, the Landlord has perfected a range of curry dishes that surpass restaurant quality. I had Chicken Chasnie and could have eaten it until I dropped. Combine with a few top ales on tap and you have a great night ahead.
As it says this is a friendly local village pub. Two small rooms and four cask ales, standard pub food menu but done to a far higher standard than usual - the over-used (and inaccurate) phrase “home-cooked” is a good description of what we had. Best pub meal I’ve had this year, and very welcome after an incredibly dispiriting experience up the road.
Didn't eat but went for a few drinks with friends. A lovely atmosphere, cosy and welcoming with very friendly bar staff who can't do enough to help you. Also very cosy around Christmas time too. The landlord Jim is very professional, friendly and runs the pub well.
Myself and my partner visited here recently, while on a short break in Derby. We can highly recommend visiting this place for a drink and bite to eat. The food and service was exceptional. We tried the steak, which was cooked to perfection.
