Lovely country pub on the outskirts of Kidderminster. Friendly staff and nice relaxed atmosphere. Good choice of dishes on the menu with reasonable prices. Nine of us visited on a late Christmas works do. All the meals came out together and were well presented and hot. Very much enjoyed by all and we will definitely be visiting again.
Went just before Christmas for an evening meal. Quite frankly, it was the nicest tastiest pie I have ever ever had! Generous portion size, good value for money and service with a smile. Everyone even wished us a very merry Christmas. Just a really really nice place. Will definitely go back again!
Just went for a nice meal today welcomed by friendly staff went to our table room was very nice very clean warm and cosy waitress was very friendly and helpful and patient which was the best we went straight to main course and both of us had the sirloin steak medium well, both of them was cooked perfectvery tasty and melt in the mouth, chips was nice too and the garlic and mushroom sauce. I followed by dessert as normal I had the sticky toffee pudding and my daughter had the Browine both were very nice i had extra custard with my sticky toffee at no extra cost. Overall really nice experience
Itβs Greens King pub/restaurant with very high standards. The food was very good, it could do with a little fill-up on the plate, A standard salad or a few more chips, perhaps a bit of coleslaw. Don't get me wrong it was a good portion. Just the plates are big and as you look down on it, it just feels a little empty. ππππ I had burger chips and onion rings. The meal was very tasty and filled me right up. No problems with the quality of the food or cooking.πππππ Other than that beer was excellent.πππππ Food was well above the standard of a pub meal. Staff were really helpful, polite, attentive and quick with orders. All in all it prompted a return visit later in the week. In the area drop in and enjoy. Highly recommend.πππππ
The Mare and Colt has been recently refurbished and is part of the Chief and Brewer chain. In the past I have had some poor experiences here so I'm not a regular customer for those reasons, this will remain the same. The staff are Lovely and helpful, unfortunately the price structure for food and drink has been set very high in my opinion. Especially in comparison to other local Pubs. I'd class this Pub as a treat rather than a regular visit. A Chief and Brewer pricing issue which is out of the control of the staff. The tiny apple tart was Β£6.69 at the time of our visit, extrapolated from that. The cost of living crisis affects us all and in the choices we make, so no more Chef & Brewer visits for me.
