A traditional pub serving contemporary English food in the heart of Fitzrovia.
Seasonal, small plates and sharing boards are available evenings and all day Sunday in the pub, alongside a range of craft beers, including our very own Gritchie brews, boutique spirits and French wines.
All of our food is freshly prepared each day by our chefs. Our menus have been created to highlight the best ingredients with great cooker over charcoal, ember and flame. Our popular Sunday lunches are traditional roasts slow-cooked with seasonal trimmings. Sustainable and fresh produce is supplied by Ashgrove Farm and our network of local suppliers.
Really enjoyed this meal, the highlight for me was actually the chocolate creamoux! The roast was good but I feel there could have been a few more sides, it comes with potatoes, carrots, red cabbage & a yorky. I think there could have also been stuffing or something to bulk it out but otherwise really nice. I also had a picante cocktail which was fab!
We had a starters only dinner the other night and each plate topped our expectations! The brilliance of flavours and soul behind each bite is really exceptional. The staff is so kind and friendly and the kitchen folk are dedicated to the best experience. We went back again a couple days later to try the pork loin and it was divine. Do try the triple-cooked potatoes—they both crunch and dissolve in your mouth! If you’re considering Sunday brunch you could be looking at a 2-3 month wait as they’ve topped the review charts in a few key publications. Word is out!
A wonderful pub. Gets very very busy here after work but if you are lucky enough to nab yourself a table then you have to try the food. Good quality and super tasty. The oysters are especially good as they dress them with some sort of herb oil and other goodies. Also the doughnuts was amazing. I tend not to like sweet foods but I definitely recommend trying this. We ordered one to share but had to get a second! The staff are also wonderful! We have mainly eaten in the bar area but there is also a restaurant upstairs.
Last week our company had a Christmas dinner at Lore of the land. The team made it very special for us. Very attentive, friendly and hardworking staff. The atmosphere, authentic design, absolutely delicious meals - everything was 10 out of 10! Thank you so much for your service, we felt welcomed and had a great time. I highly recommend to visit this place !
Had an outstanding dinner here recently. The menu is seasonal and very elevated for a pub - reminded me more restaurants with big awards. Phenomenal soda bread, omelet , beef Tartar, lamb chops with lamb hearts and peas, sirloin perfectly cooked etc… all Well seasoned and executed properly. Only thing I found ok was the ox tongue. The house beer was delicious. Service was good, with only objection they are trying hard to up-sale you alcohol , to the point we told them off :) When the bill came it was £60/ head for huge amount of food - so probably estimate £40-60 per person. Go!
