There is evidence that a mill existed on this site 800 years ago, one of many on the river Loddon. However the building you see now is more likely of 15th century origin and the granary, now incorporated in the inn, was added in the 16th century. At the height of its success, 'Lodgridge Mill' at 'Shirefield-upon-Loddon,' was a major industry in the area with two water-wheels powering four sets of milling stones. There is still a working mill on the site today.

Would like to say a big thank you to the staff at Long Bridge Mill, for making my family members wake such a lovely time. The function room was just right for what we needed and it's beautifully done up. The staff were polite and accommodating and the food provided was 12/10. Thank you again.
We were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff, both behind the bar and at our table. Our waitress was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. We didn't have to wait for our food to arrive and what we ordered was divine. Our empty plates were proof of what we thought of the food! Everything was served beautifully. The ambience of the Longbridge Mill lends itself to a warm and welcoming visit there and is definitely the best pub in Sherfield.
Great countryside pub with fresh beers and tasty food! 1st in my top list! Hopefully, they will get soon Cruzcampo beer on board!
Three stars is generous really. The food is average at best, the roast potatoes were more boiled, barely roasted and it takes the staff ages to get rid of the mess on other tables. We were sat for over 45 minutes before they cleared the mess.
Hadn’t been here for a while but had seen that they had changed hands. The food was incredible! there’s preference of choice in regards to steak but the steak that was in my sandwich was sublime, the accompanying onion chutney was incredible. Garlic bread was out of this world and there’s a decent selection of drinks. They’re welcoming to dogs in the outside areas and provided our dog with some water to enjoy.
