Three generations over forty years have cherished the Lion Hotel in Criccieth. We are famous for our welcoming atmosphere created by care, consideration and a genuine desire to offer everything the modern visitor requires.
Dating back to the 18th century, the ‘Inn on the Green’ is the ideal base for touring the Llyn peninsula and provides perfect accommodation near Snowdon. With stunning views of mountains, coast and castle, the Lion Hotel in Criccieth offers the ideal retreat for all ages.
The hotel has recently refurbished the stable block to offer Six Studio Apartments, comprising an en-suite Kingsize bedroom and attached lounge with dining facilities and mini kitchen. Some apartments have sofa beds to accommodate 2 children and some to accommodate one child.

Staff very pleasant, polite and helpful. Room was VERY hot and the window would only open a couple of inches. Bed was comfortable. Toilet flush and taps on washbasin a little dirty. Free coffee (including decaf), tea and biscuits in room. No sockets at side of bed so phone had to charge at the other side of the room. TV reception was poor. There was a blue light on the TV while on standby and a very bright one on a control panel next to the bed (we couldn't fathom what it was for). The room was quiet during the night. Food was good but a little expensive. Pub and restaurant areas are pram and wheelchair accessible and the pub is dog friendly. Free car park at the rear.
Warm, clean and comfortable. Good breakfasts but no evening meals severed Sunday and Monday. Tuesday it was bar meals only, with two televisions showing different programmes.
Nice clean room. Good size. Pleasant and friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Could see the sea from our room.
Very nice hotel in perfect location close to shore and castle. Brilliant staff/ can’t praise them enough. Very welcoming and helpful. Great room, plenty of space. Pleasant bar. Occasional noise from room above but overall excellent.
We stayed here for 3 nights. Location perfect, breakfast perfect but the only reason I can’t give 5 start is because of the trouble we faced in the room shower. Water pressure was way too slow, we complained but no one did anything to take care of this issue.
