This used to be a great venue, a reliable stop both for late night and early evening. I just arrived an hour before closing and my friends and I were turned away for no reason, with an overly aggressive bouncer yelling in our face. We won't be returning and don't recommend.
Great old traditional high-ceiling pub with inviting decor and period features. Reasonable downstairs seating including some big leather chairs. Decent beer selection, friendly efficient service. Prices not too crazy for the area. Not tried any food, but hot bar snacks were in evidence, also at reasonable prices. Go upstairs and you have an amazing intimate events area legendary for it's live music - a springboard for both up and coming acts and veteran sloggers alike, with affordable ticket prices. If I lived locally, I'd probably be down here every week!
Stage and dance floor upstairs and plenty of sitting and standing room downstairs. Also a bar on both floors. It's a grimy local with a rustic/punk feel. Good for people of any ages. Drinks were reasonably priced and although it was packed, it was never more than a couple of minutes to get served (maybe just because I'm good looking) Either way I loved it did a good 200 quid just on myself, my mate left with some bird.
Watched the amazing and underrated music artist Jessica Winter! The venue is beautiful and not too big. Drink prices are good and toilets upstairs as well as downstairs. Very much recommended for music gig lovers!
Great pub with a music venue / club above it. The pub has a good range of hand drawn and tap draft beers. A relatively small menu but good food. The music room upstairs is a good size and shape - nicely square - with a raised area at the back. Great atmosphere for the band we saw - The Lathums.
