This iconic pub has gone through a major transformation under the new ownership of the Little & Large Pub Company, restoring the pub to its former glory.
The Leicester Arms is open throughout the day and you will be able to enjoy lunch or dinner in the beautiful old pub building or, in the summer months, out on the terrace and covered pergola. The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers. Whether you’re looking to escape for a weekend or indulge for a week, All our botanically inspired bedrooms will tell their own tale ranging in size and character. No two rooms will be the same, with colours inspired by their botanical names and graced with carefully sourced interiors. Each of our bedrooms will be individually designed all with super king luxury beds, minibar, pure cotton bedlinen, very fluffy towels and the little touches to make you feel right at home. The hotel closed yesterday for refurb by the new owners. The location is idilic, the staff couldn't do enough to help us. The food in the evening was superb. That's the positives The negatives, no heating in the room, had to get a replacement heater, the ornate headboard and footboard hadn't been cleaned for some time. The toilet seat wasn't fixed on properly, we both nearly got thrown off! The shower, although powerful, sprayed water everywhere in the bathroom making the floor dangerous. The Internet connection was intermittent, always had to keep logging on. The waiting staff, though fab, admitted the hotel was shutting so they were making the menu up from food left to use up. Breakfast wasn't the best, continental? More the local shop....... The location, the food, and the staff made this a welcome break, I hope the new owners take note
What a fantastic place. The staff here are a joy and very attentive. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. A bustling little pub with a great atmosphere. The food and drink are both well worth the visit.
Stayed overnight. Stunning location! The staff and owner a credit giving above and beyond service. Food fabulous (especially the roast potatoes!). Room very nice wonderful decor complimenting the hotel, the bed very comfortable we had great night sleep. Thank you!
Lovely pub and a nice range of food. The service, however, is absolutely awful. We were a party of ten on a very quiet Saturday afternoon and every interaction was a struggle. I’d understand if the staff were busy, but they were standing around or sitting looking at their phones and when we did succeed in getting their attention, acted as though our simple requests (ie, for the dessert menus) were impositions on their personal time. My partner eventually got up to get us all menus and tally up our orders and even then they still got it wrong. One girl seemed to be doing all of the work for the whole place while the rest just shrugged and ignored us.
Went for Sunday lunch, lovely location but facilities were definitely past there prime, but was informed that a refurb is in the pipeline. Service was excellent, as was the drinks options. Three members of the party had starters which were all very good but the main coarse roasts were a disappointment. Vegetables were very overcooked, parsnips inedible, lamb was very dry as was the pork. Beef was perfect though! Very impressed with the range of choices but if we return, Sunday roast will not be our first option.
