Welcome to The Leather Bottle Cobham, a warm relaxing half timbered traditional pub serving modern English cuisine, prepared fresh on site, real ales and fine wines. The Leather Bottle is known to many as Charles Dickens' Favourite Ale House in Cobham, Kent. The great man himself not only used the inn and often stayed in Rooms 2 & 6, but he also featured it in The Pickwick Papers, for it was here that the lovelorn Mr Tracy Tupman fled after being jilted by his sweetheart Rachel Wardle, where he drowned his sorrows in Mr Pickwick's company.
We serve all fresh dishes prepared on site, local where possible, using carefully sourced suppliers. We have our own in house Ale brewed by Shepherd Neame exclusively for us and proudly named Charles Dickens Ale.
Big changes have happened throughout and our garden is to die for in the summer months, so come down with the family to Mr Bumbles' Bar and enjoy a jug of Pimms to share.

Beautiful old-fashoned English pub. We ate there three times and stayed in rooms above. The rooms are huge and traditionally well-appointed. Good solid mattresses. The food was very good, pub-grub style but definitely a notch above that in terms of quality both of ingredients and cooking. Very good value for money. Also a warm welcome for our dog. A perfect pub: long may she reign.
Enjoyed a pint or two here. Good atmosphere. For once not dominated by “that table is reserved for people who are eating”. Friendlier reception than I have had in the past. It’s an incredibly atmospheric pace oozing with history. Just sometimes they forget that deprivation is built on the people who pay their money now, not by the fact the Dickens enjoyed it a long time ago. Not this time. Was a really welcoming experience. Hope they continue to deliver like this.
Visited for Sunday lunch! Lots of reserved tables indoors but plenty of space in the garden. Sunday lunch menu is reasonable - beef roast great and generous kids roast options! Bar small but orders taken quickly. All in all not much service to comment on but was a nice enough spot!
Been coming here for years, lovely old pub and a quiet village. Great atmosphere and food was good But........ Please bring back all the proper pub grub, good menu for a evening meal but lunch time you might want something lighter. I.e the nice sandwiches you used to do.
Lovely pub, very rustic inside. Lots of history attached to it. Nice garden area and plenty of car parking. Drinks reasonably priced and food prices seemed on par with other pubs I've visited. Didn't eat here today but what we saw coming out looked good and plentiful.
