The Parker’s offers modern British food using the finest regional produce in our very own special way, an eclectic selected wine list, real ales and 2 ensuite rooms with views.
We aim for a rustic yet contemporary decor, casual yet elegant, warm and welcoming in the true Lancashire way and as functional as a food pub should be. Very dog friendly in the bar areas.
A contemporary country inn. The perfect destination to EAT DRINK and SLEEP in the heart of the Trough of Bowland. An enjoyable experience for the whole family, even your very well behaved dog is welcome. The perfect pause for ramblers, cyclists and visitors. Whether its just fora pint of good local ale, a cappuccino, a small bite to eat, a hearty celebratory meal or large function, we have it all. Casual relaxed yet elegant there is something for everyone at parkersarms.
I can highly recommend the Parkers Arms for anyone who enjoys seasonal produce cooked to perfection. We booked on a whim to go for dinner on the same day and so I cannot comment on the local area too much as we travelled in the dark. I can say, however, that we were greeted warmly by the proprietor and very much enjoyed the Sloe Gin Fizz and Bramble Crush cocktails. We had some Piri Piri Pork Puffs to whet out appetites and were then walked through the menu for the evening. The three-course menu has excellent choice - I would happily have ordered everything on it! We ordered lobster bisque with charcoal cod, and a lentil cream for my better half - both starters served with some lovely fresh sourdough bread and a pesto/herb oil (I think). For main we both opted for venison loin, beautifully pink, with a deliciously rich, savoury and slightly sweet sauce, a wonderfully earthy mushroom puree, wilted cavolo nero and an exquisite parcel of venison in hot water pastry - it’s not surprising the pies served here are very highly regarded (one for next time). Apple strudel with a Seville marmalade cream and a chocolate delice for dessert. Excellent food, attentive service, a warm and friendly front of house and lovely company. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely relaxed setting, great food. Very enjoyable meal. Gripes: WC's need some TLC, was absolutely freezing in there!. However, the main downer for me was the extra £10 a head (4 of us so £40) added to the bill without explnation. It was NY day, BUT both the website when booking, AND more importantly the printed menu chosen from on the actual day had stated £50 for set 3 courses, not the automatically added £60!. Left feeling a little cheated tbh!,
Such a terrific place. Excellent three course meal, incredible views and very friendly. Kids were welcome, and the espresso after the food was superb. Great walks around the pub too, and a beautiful view.
It was only after our second visit to the Parkers Arms that it came up on my feed that we'd been the exact same day the year before! Still as good, food and wine superb. Not cheap but a wonderful all-around nice place with warm welcome and quirky nature. Can recommend 👌
Warm and friendly welcome staff. We had the £50 each menu choice of 3 for each course . Lovely starters we were asked if any allergies and cucumber was served in the salad even though we mentioned it on ordering . Main course pie was excellent the herb lamb meal was 3 slices of lamb with vegetables and potatoes on the side quite ordinary expected more on the presentation . The dessert was refreshing and cheese and biscuits were nice . Overall a nice lunch but slightly disappointing experience.
