About us

The Kings Head is the only pub in the heart of the village of Chacewater. Its ideal location is enhanced further by its prominent position sitting proudly on the main road close to the City of Truro.

The Kings Head needs a welcoming host with letting experience to nurture the five guest letting rooms and to service the snug bar and the dining area. We’re also looking for a dynamic Publican who will make the most of the traditional beer garden guests love during warmer weather to meet their friends, relax and while away the hours.

You’ll also be taking on a slick-looking pub, as we recently refurbished the trading area and letting bedrooms. The pub is also a popular base for tourists exploring picturesque Cornwall.

Inside you’ll discover an open plan space divided into a bar, a cosy snug with a log burner and a separate dining section. You’ll also find a commercial kitchen. There’s a terraced area outside overlooking the high street and a lawned garden area to the rear of the car park with picnic benches.

NEW LANDLORD. Second year visiting Chasewater. Last year pub was dreadful. This year so different. Good beer, friendly landlord. Clean, airy, new carpet etc etc. I wish them all the success possible. 👍👍

Lovely landlord and landlady, very friendly, nice and clean inside, plenty of seating area and has a large garden area too, great for families

Bed comfy, room clean, but that's it. All downhill from here I'm afraid. Room was sold to me as an en suite, but shower and toilet are in the corridor, not the room. No cold water from the sink, cant get the kettle under the other tap that worked! Pub smells of smoke and has an overall grubby feel to it. Very limited food choice and very poor breakfast. Think I'd prefer the 3 hour drive home, than stay next time!

We popped in for a drink and a bite to eat just before Christmas. Two of us and our dog, we were made to feel extremely welcome and the atmosphere was very friendly all round. The food was good, honest pub grub and very reasonably priced. A proper 'local' 👌

Not somewhere I would stay again. Tom (The manager) tried his best to make us feel welcome and keep everything running but his chef left the week before we arrived so there were no evening meals or cooked breakfast available. The pub is run down. The rooms are old fashioned and smelled musty. They were not the cleanest either. Things were missing, broken etc and the tea bags looked like they had been their for months. They didn't service the rooms very well, we had to ask them to empty our bins twice and replenish the milk, coffee and sugar in the rooms. Breakfast on the first day was booked for 9:30am but no one was even up. I had to phone the pub in order to alert someone that we were waiting. I'm afraid its a dying or dead place. Won't be around for long.
