A basic, street-corner pub of a type once common but now increasingly under threat. Very much a locals' pub with friendly bar staff and no other pretensions. It has quite an impressive exterior with some old beer advertising signs indicating its once Courage ownership. The pub is long and thin with most of it extending down the side street (Monsell Rd.), the decor is pleasant enough being carpeted throughout and ample seating with a dart board at the far end. There's a large screen TV although it did not seem to feature Sky Sports. No evidence of food, customers seemed to be bringing in their own without any problem.
Excellent pub that hasn't changed in years and the locals like it like that obviously. Barman was really friendly and we had great seats and space to watch the Arsenal match in comfort. Quite nice tunes were played earlier too on the jukebox. Di and would definitely return. Ah..good prices too! Makes a change from the rip off prices you get in London. A 10!
The pints here are delicious. They're quite moreish though so do be careful not to accidentally have 7 before kick off.
Popped into this pub on a walk to Finsbury Park. Typical local sports boozer, very friendly staff. Nearly sank through the seating, needs refurbishment.
There was a fight with in two minutes me being there. The young lady behind the bar was great. But don't serve people until they can not walk. My local for decades. Walk down memory lane wasn't a memory to keep.
Irish pub in Finsbury Park area...small,but nice . Good selection of beers at a good price.Watched Arsenal game...in quiete and friendly atmosphere.
