Licensees Darren Stafford & Clare Smith look forward to welcoming you to the King William.
The King William is a real family pub. There are three generations of us in all. We are joined by Clare's parents Keith & Sharon and our two girls.
Darren heads up the kitchen bringing years of experience and a fastidious attention to detail to ensure that whether you are popping in for a drink, a light lunch or dinner with friends and family, your experience at the King William will be a memorable one.
Called in for the 1s t time. As we always pass the King William Inn when it's closed. But wow yesterday we court it open only 10 minutes before closing. The Land Lady was lovely , and the young lady. They were lovely gave us some information. Inside the pub was amazing. 2 lovely fireplaces. It was very spacious inside. We have been passing this pub for over 25 years. But we will next time we will definitely ring and book a table. I highly recommend anyone to try The King William Inn. Look forward to going In November. Thank you Land Lady and young lady. WE WILL BE BACK..
Wonderful old inne, with great atmosphere and good cider. Great customer service and very friendly. Was a welcome stop on our cycle ride.
Now listen, folks, we have some news, We've done a local food review, We recently wanted Sunday lunch, And we've been to all the local bunch, So if you want to know the winner, There's only one place for Sunday dinner. Meet Robyn, Nicky, and don't forget Mark, They truly leave the rest in the dark, The king William at Catcott is by far the best And you can honestly keep the rest. Forget the Carvery and Gastropub, This is proper home cooked grub. Now the tearooms finally here, It's not just a place to have a beer, So "here's to the King William" is the toast, The place to go for your Sunday roast.
Stopped here for a bite to eat and some drinks after a long walk through the countryside. The welcome we received was very friendly. We are on holiday in Somerset and the staff here were very helpful with places to get cider and other areas to visit. The cider on tap of Dorset Orchards Gold was delicious. The food we had was so good that we booked for Sunday lunch the next day. When they heard how much of a walk we had and having to walk along a busy road with children they even offered to give us a lift back to our lodge. I would definitely recommend this lovely village pub! Edit. Just got back from a lovely Sunday lunch. The roast pork was delicious. The red cabbage tasted like it had cinnamon in it which was a lovely touch. Very tasty indeed. And all the staff were very friendly again.
A great place for our first family meal out in a long time. Kind-hearted and polite staff with a great sense of humour, a rustic setting plus amazing food: My vegan burger was just like the real thing. Looking forward to returning when it's fully reopened.
