Beautiful pub delicious food but the reason why it wasn't 5 stars is I booked table for two and stated we had a dog but we arrived and was told we couldn't bring dogs in the restaurant and told to find a table in the bar which was full but luckily a couple left so we grabbed a table. The gluten free options were very limited so not the New Year's Eve dinner I was hoping for. But if you don't have gluten free issues or a dog you will be fine lol
We went for an early Friday supper two weeks and had a lovely meal - just the main course. We sat in the bar area, which was gently buzzing. The staff were welcoming and very pleasant. The food was piping hot and it was delicious. From memory, the meal was fairly priced. We would certainly go back.
We went here for dinner on a Saturday evening. The pub is well presented and a lovely venue. The food was very good and it has a good menu overall and we very much enjoyed all 3 courses. The service was unfortunately poor. Once sat down it was some time before we got the opportunity to see a menu. We seemed to have a different staff member at each interaction which felt a little disjointed. Once out table was cleared we had to prompt a waitress to get us a dessert menu. It wasn't that there was a poor ethic rather than they had no strategy in dealing with what was a busy restaurant. I would recommend in the hope this was isolated and the food was excellent.
Lovely pub. Separate dinning area and bar area which is always nice, but the same menu. Dogs are allowed in the bar area or the garden (which is also good). Food is great, had the burger which I’m pretty sure was handmade. Child friendly as well and have high chairs and a kids play area in the garden. Will return.
Wonderful lunch in the pretty pub garden. Ducks in a pond, beautiful view. Fresh made pizzas cooked In a wood fired oven outside in the summer. Great ingredients, so much topping and a vegan option to top it all. Friendly, attentive staff. Looking forward to our next visit when we are staying over.
