I am very fussy about my food This charming pub exceeds all expectations I had a burger and chips as I only wanted a quick snack, thinking I'd leave most of the chips so as not to spoil my tea. I didn't expect the chips to be THAT good. Scoffed the lot. And the home made coleslaw is truly divine They pour a good pint too
Really wonderful Inn and Pub located adjacent to an old cemetery. Lots of charm. Nice outdoor dining; steak and ale pie was some of the best we have ever tasted. Stayed here at end of day 2 walking Offa's Dyke Path. Highly recommended.
Such a lovely, charming pub. We visited whilst staying at Blaentrothy Farm & we’re so glad we did. The nachos are amazing, the burger & chili con carne delicious & the atmosphere & staff are fab. We are sad we were leaving Sunday morning, as the Sunday roast came highly recommended. Booking in advance is advised, it gets busy.
Lovely pub in a great location. Lovely Sunday lunch that came highly reccommended by friends.. but disappointed that our Beef and Pork were so thinly sliced. Looked almost like pre-sliced meat, so was disappointing especially seeing pics of meals with what I would describe as decent slices of meat. Came away wishing I had had the meatloaf. Vegetables great, but roast potatoes seemed deep fried. No stuffing with the Pork.
We stumbled upon the Hunters Moon while searching for a Sunday lunch spot, and it turned out to be a fantastic find! The cozy atmosphere and delectable food, left us thoroughly impressed. The freshness and quality of the dishes were evident, making it one of the best Sunday lunches we’ve experienced. The lamb was a standout, incredibly delicious, and the gravy was unmatched. Their unique Brussels sprouts recipe, featuring almonds and bacon (I believe), was also an absolute delight!!! The friendly and welcoming staff added to the enjoyable experience. If only we lived closer, we would make it a Sunday tradition to dine here. Thank you xxx

Reputed to be one of the oldest pubs in Wales, the Skirrid has a woven itself into history & folkore. Shakespeare himself is said to have taken inspiration from this place & Owain Glyndwr may have rallied his men on this very site.
