A country-style pub first licensed in the 1750s, which lies west of the village centre. The open-plan bar divided into four areas has half-panelled walls and beamed ceilings. Photos show it as once a Kirkstall Brewery house. Darts, dominoes and pool are played, on Thursdays there is a music & knowledge quiz and on Saturdays karaoke. Guest beers come mainly from independent breweries. Outside is a patio with a flower display which has won it the Birstall in Bloom award for the last three years. Pub policy says no hats, no tracksuit bottoms. Last admission 11pm. 20p/pint CAMRA discount except on John Smith's.
Nice pub good ales on offer
Fantastic pub 👌 lovely traditional pub atmosphere, great service 😀
1st visit yesterday with partner and family members. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Locals chatted with us and made us feel welcome. We'll definitely be back. Has more of a traditional pub feel which has charm.
Very cozy drinking pub. Plenty of seating and a good pool table that doesn't cost the earth. Only dropped a star because the 'white rat' beer isn't available now
Nice pub. Very busy when I went. Lovely atmosphere. Nice and warm which was good as it was horrible weather outside. Looking forward to visiting again. The pub was all decorated ready for St Patrick's day.
