The Hope Pub is a small, friendly community local hidden in West Norwood, in the London Borough of Lambeth, around five miles south of Charing Cross.
Here at the Hope, we’re proud to be the beating heart of our local community in West Norwood. We’re known for our charity work and we strive to support the local community as much as we can.
Built around 1850, the Hope is full of character, with a charming bar and a sunny patio garden to the rear, along with a private function room.
We serve a great selection of drinks, including lagers, real ales and gins, and we show all major sporting events on TV.
Feel free to bring your four-legged friends and little ones, and enjoy our lovely sun-trapped beer garden, along with live entertainment and charity events.
If you’re looking to host your own special occasion, we even have a covered and heated private function area outside in the garden, where we’re happy to cater for all kinds of events, including parties, wakes, wedding receptions and meetings.
We’re open every day of the week from Noon until 11.30pm or Midnight, depending on the day, and if it’s food you’re after, you can join us for Curry Night on Thursdays and our tasty Sunday Roasts!

Stumbled upon The Hope while looking for a place to meet a friend while in the area and I’m so glad I did. The owner is so kind and welcoming and the pub itself (during a weeknight) was cozy and chilled. It’s rare to find a place like this in London. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area
Brought a friend visiting the UK for a Sunday lunch. One of the best roast dinners in south London or maybe even London. Excellent value, very friendly and approachable staff and family run. As an ex hospitality member could not recommend more!
Had a Sunday Roast with a couple of friends - 1st October 23. I had Roast Chicken. Delicious. Reasonably priced and great service. Sat outside and enjoyed the weather with a shandy. Thank you. Norwood's great little secret that needs to be recognised!
Easily the best roast in West Norwood for a more than reasonable price. Just make sure you book the day before or it will be sold out!! The crisp selection slaps too. Forget all that £6+ a pint nonsense. This is a cosy old school pub with a lovely atmosphere and awesome beer garden. Family run by people who care about everyone and are constantly doing things for local charities and food banks. My favourite pub in West Norwood, and it's not even close. Could not recommend enough. Perfect place to watch every England game, the rugby or F1.
The service and atmosphere are brilliant. Used to live in the area and have always been accommodating. I know people who have used this public house for wakes for the past couple of years, and they have always been excellent. Friendly and a nice little place to chill out in.
