I tend to go here for the occasional pint, friendly atmosphere, staff are great! The venue itself is a bit tired and run down and can be a bit chilly during the winter months... However, prices are reasonable and the pale ale and IPA generally on tap are of a nice easy drinking variety.
Sunday carvery was damned tasty! Can't say I've ever had anything less than a tasty meal and great pint. Always friendly. It's a hikers pub though it matters not if you're not. Top draw!!
Nice pub, good food and a great location, especially going through the beer garden across the road and then swim in the lake. The bunkhouse is a bit dated and my bed was the most uncomfortable I've slept in, I could feel every spring. Having said that it had ensuite bathroom for £30 so I didn't expect too much. Definitely worth another* if the mattress was replaced. Friendly staff.
Dropped in to this delightful pub/hotel on spec. On the main street. Plenty of on-site parking and ample outside seating surrounded by trees. Views over the mountains. Very warm and friendly service. Great cask beer! Highly recommended.
Good, quick service, good beer, food, depends, great chips, very good cheeseburger but pizza... was just OK. I can swear it was cooked from frozen or prepared earlier and just toppings added later on but then I didn't expect anything more as this is not an Italian restaurant. Shame that it is so difficult to get any decent food in the area in between 3-6pm 🤷🏻♀️ Pint should be included in main meal price 🙃 It's also smelly inside. Not sure why but we couldn't eat in due to this. You can just smell the dirt. Not to bad if you are thirsty or hungry tho 😉
