The Half Moon can be found in the middle of an old row of half-timbered buildings adjacent to Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe in which Dickinson and Morris sell their traditional Melton Mowbray Pork Pies
The pub itself is a long and narrow two roomed building. The front bar starts on street level but then climbs to a higher level and the serving area. A small lounge is to the rear of this with a pool table at the back. A large screen Tv shows horse racing in the front bar room and at weekends a DJ provides loud music until late.
If there is anything to be said about the half moon it's this... 1. That the bar staff are amazing especially Roisin 2.refer to no point 1. 3.you get the idea 4. 5. 6.👀 ☝️🥇one
... nice place to sit outside on a sunny day in the town. The bar staff was very attentative
Didn't try the food as the kitchen was not open. It is, however, a fantastic pub.
Dirty, foul mouthed clients and ale was rank.. walked out in disgust.. left the beers.
Very inviting, great atmosphere, the landlord and landlady are remarkable people (locals aren’t too bad either) the food is very nice, the choice of beverages are incredible but most of all the staff are outstanding (if i do say so myself)... jokes aside. It is an absolute pleasure to work in such a great pub. Credit to the landlord and landlady.
